Something Bubbly, Something Web 2.0 |
I like things web 2.0, and easily get excited when come across them online. Below are three websites that I recently stumpled upon.
From the title you can tell that these three sites have got something in common, that’s right, they are all kinda bubbly.
First up, Snap.com Preview anywhere, a free service offered by the Snap.com search engine that allows websites owners to add preview bubbles to their sites. This application will show a preview of the linked page (internal or external) when the cursor hovers over the link. Now you can even customize your SPA bubble-choosing a color for the bubble frame, adding a logo of your own, also changing the position of the preview bubble shown.
I’ve been using SPA at my homepage for a while now, and with this smart tool, it does add some bling to my site, but some negative points have to be taken into consideration:1. it’s annoying when the bubble pops up and you unintentionally click on the what is this link, going to snap.com instead of the page you intended. 2. the loading can be slow sometimes.

Bubble number two: BubbleSnaps.com, a site that helps you turn your daily photos to, what i call, real person manga. you first need to upload your picture from your computer, after your image have loaded, you can add your first bubble and position it anywhere by clicking and dragging around the edge, then adding your message. if you want to resize the bubble, you can just do so by dragging the anchors at the corners. click and drag to put the pointer where you like it. you can also change the style of the bubble with by clicking speak or think option at the bottom. if you want to add another bubble, just repeat the same process. when youre done, click finish and send the end product to your friend and yourself via email.
Lastly: BubblePLY.com, this cool site enables you to add a bubble with texts and links to a video for free without disturbing the actual video content . simply grab any video (hosted at many major websites like: youtube, google video, myspace, dailymotion, antiboom.) by copying and pasting the URL of the video into BubblePLY.com (the video will then be streamed into BubblePLY.com, it can take a while, depending upon the video size and your internet connection speed), the rest is easy with the instructions given at BubblePLY.com.
Well, it’s enough bubbles for one day, go and start Bubbling now.
